  • Abdussalam Veisitabar  writes:
I think that we can add the philosophical dimension to this model because we must consider the ontological aspect of e-learning as a context.
Khan’s Answer:
Framework’s  eight dimensions are comprehensive. It does cover philosophical aspect of learning design. Within the Design Approach sub-dimension of the Pedagogical dimension, instructivist pedagogical philosophy and constructivist pedagogical philosophy are included.

The pedagogical philosophy of the overall design of the course is influenced by whether the content is well‑structured or ill‑structured. The instructivist philosophy espouses an objectivist epistemology, whereas the constructivist approach emphasizes the primacy of the learners’ intentions, experiences, and cognitive strategies (Reeves and Reeves, 1997).

Framework’s Technological dimension covers learning objects which must be meta-tagged appropriately to support personalization based on student’s prior knowledge, learning style and performance – thus implementing adaptive learning (pedagogical dimension) and adapting testing (evaluation dimension).
E-Learning Framework Sub-Dimensions

I welcome research works on ontological aspect of the E-learning Framework.

We have found it very useful but the material available on internet is not enough to understand it deeply. Please guide me how to get the deeper understanding of this framework. – Bushra Malik, Lecturer, Riphah International University, Pakistan.

Khan’s Answer:

Thanks for your interest in my E-Learning Framework. In my publications (books: http://asianvu.com/bk/framework/?page_id=2314), critical issues encompassing the eight dimensions of framework are discussed. By the way, researchers and practitioners in e-learning who adopted the framework have published articles that might be interest to you (http://asianvu.com/bk/framework/?page_id=2618).
