ET: Which university, in your opinion, is the best in the world in terms of providing online education? BHK: I am not in a position to endorse any institution. Any online programs in an institution with higher student retention rate, and a greater stakeholders’ satisfaction should be considered as successful institution. BK: I view e-learning as an innovative approach for delivering electronically mediated, well-designed, learner-centered, and interactive learning environments to anyone, anyplace, anytime by utilizing the Internet and digital technologies in concert with instructional design principles. In Conversation with Badrul Khan: The Internet is a bridge. Deccan Herald. The Web or the Internet has metamorphosed from an information tool of the 90s into an instructional one in the 21st century. Badrul H Khan, Associate Professor in the George Washington University, Washington DC, USA has the credit of first coining the phrase ‘Web-based learning’ and popularising the concept. He believes e-learning does not just make education easy and accessible to the vast majority of people on the Indian subcontinent but holds out huge potential for the Indian IT industry to become the world leader in designing the contents of such initiatives.
